One major source for identifying the current use and needs of local insitutions in the field of Geographic Information Systems was the feedback collected with a questionnaire that was tailored to the specific framework of applying GIS in Galapagos.
This site serves as a platform to share and discuss an ongoing collective effort to create a geocommunity for Galapagos that fosters a technological and organizational infrastructure for a collaborative management and use of critical geoinformation for the Galapagos Islands.
